GERHARD RICHTER:

German Visual Artist.

I have always been a huge admirer of Ritchers work, from his expressive abstract pieces with oil and water colour to his photography. His work is stunning; his attention to color and application of medium is vast and yet always controlled. He is currently exhibiting his ‘New Overpainted Photographs’ in Tokyo and is part of a group exhibition in London: ‘Crash. Homage to JG Ballard’, at the Gagosian Gallery. He is exhibiting alongside the likes of Francis Bacon, Richard Hamilton, Damien Hirst, Edward Hopper, Jenny Saville and Ed Ruscha to name a mere few… the exhibition is a response o the enormous impact and enduring cultural significance of JG Ballards work, following his death in Spring 2009.
