GRIDLOCK

This lamp was showcased at the London Design Festival last year by Philippe Malouin as part of a collection of furniture inspired by architectural cross- bracing, a system used to reinforce structures. I think everything about this piece is simply stunning, from the simple materials used to the way it plays with scale. I particularly like the way in which the bare light bulb seems so delicately encaged within its own void.
